To really warm oneself up and make the most of Winter fare, what could be better than a delicious gratin Dauphinois ? This dish originated in Dauphiné (currently region of Grenoble), a great dish enjoyed by family and friends.

Ingredients for 4 people :

1.5 Kg potatoes

5 cloves garlic

300 ml cream

1 litre milk

Salt, pepper

Nutmeg

Method:

Heat oven 180°. Peel potatoes, wash and finely slice.

Place a layer in a flat baking dish. Cover with milk and with cream, season with salt and pepper and a sprinkle nutmeg. Repeat until the dish is full, finishing with cream and milk. You could add a bay leaf for flavour. Place in oven and cook for 45 min / 1 hr.

Accompanied by a meat dish, such as osso bucco would be delicious !
