Stretching over 1787km of flora and fauna including many protected animal species nature lovers will be amazed by its beauty and indulge in the soft warm colours. The fields of lavender extend as far as the eye can see bringing pleasure to everyone ! Young and old, you will be overwhelmed by so much beauty. For the sporty ones, there are hiking trails to discover the region more closely. Indeed, the regional natural reserve of the Provençal Baronies is rich in trail paths: you will come across charming small villages amongst large flowering areas where lavender and sunshine meet ! Between Vercors, the Drôme, the Mont Ventoux, Préalpes and the valley of la Durance, the Baronnies form an area situated well away from the main roads and traffic.
The surrounding cities are as magnificent as the towns: Sisteron, Dieulefit, Grignan, Valréas, Vaison-la-Romaine and Veynes.

Whilst at Sisteron you will be fortunate enough to taste the Provençal specialities, for example, honey from Provence, fougasse, Provencal stew and the delights of white nougat. If one of your favourite activities during the holidays is to stroll through markets enjoying not only the visual aspects but your taste buds as well , you certainly won’t be disappointed ! Markets on Saturdayac mornings and also at night, here you will have more than plenty to do ! So, what does one find at the stalls of the merchants ? Some delicatessens, various local cheeses , honey and also fresh fruit juices … It really is a mix between tradition and every day lifestyle of the locals of the region that make the markets such a welcoming experience !
