Les Castels share with us 60 years of stories through numerous anecdotes about our 4 and 5 star luxury camping! It’s in Touraine that the luxury 4-star campsite L’Orangerie de Beauregard opens its doors. Surrounding a magnificent manor house and beautiful buildings, you can enjoy a “British” atmosphere, out of the ordinary accommodation and a luxury situated campsite!
We met the owners of L’Orangerie de Beauregard, now to tell you about it:
Would you like to introduce yourself ?
Tim and Jane Rocke, originally from the United Kingdom have been in France since 2005. We spent our first decade after arriving in France in the Pays d’Auge as English teachers as well as guests of a ‘bed & breakfast’, not far from Livarot. We bought the Domaine de Beauregard in 2015, so we left Normandy for this new camping adventure in the Touraine region.
What is your role within your Castel campsite ?
We are the owners and managers of the campsite. In particular Jane takes care of our restaurant and Tim takes care of the reception.
When was your campsite established ? Can you describe it for us ?
We bought the property in 2015 and after nearly three years of work we opened our doors to campers for the first time in May 2018. This is a 4-star campsite in a wooded area of 53 hectares, including a small family castle and beautifully restored buildings. The campsite allows you to immerse yourself into a ‘British’ atmosphere, with, in particular, English entertainment. You have a choice between 8 special accommodation sites, 142 camping pitches and 3 houses ( gites) all await you in the Loire Valley region, enjoy!
What are your values, your ambitions for the future ?
Our wish as a family owner is to stay very close to our campers, to help them feel at home during their time with us for a night or a month. Our ambition is to establish a ‘family of guests’ who will visit us throughout the years with their friends and their children, and in time with children of their children!
Can you give us an anecdote ? Your favourite memory ?
On the day of our opening ceremony it was raining constantly all day long and everyone was very happy for us saying “Rainy start, happy future !” – especially for English people who like the rain, don’t they ? is it not ? Our best memories ? When the campers who were leaving came to look for us and said “Thank you for everything, see you next year! ”
Where is your favourite place on the estate ?
Centennial oak alleys on the borders of the property planted by someone well before us with a vision for the coming generations to follow. We must always keep this in mind, building for those who follow on after us?
What is your favourite moment according to the seasons ?
The evenings when the small outdoor markets are installed throughout the grounds around a pizza-truck and a cafébar-truck. We close our restaurant and our bar, and everyone, the team and campers, enjoy a lovely relaxed time together.
What are your plans for 2019 ?
We open the second part of the campsite and we go from 85 to 150 camp pitches!
And you, do you have an anecdote to share with us from one of your stays at Castels ?
