Sainte-Marie, an ancient 18th century forge is situated near Donremy and Colombey les Deux Eglises, respective homes of Joan of Arc and General de Gaulle. This remarkable site, already a great success, boasts a lake and indoor swimming pool, just an example of the facilities on offer.

Whether you are looking for a grassy or hard standing pitch, a sunny or shady pitch, by the play area or next to the lake, La Forge de Sainte Marie has something for everybody.

    Premium : The premium pitches at La Forge de Sainte Marie are situated on large 200m² pitches, have a 10 amps electricity connection and a waste water point. Garden furniture (table, 6 chairs, 2 sun loungers, a parasol, a fridge and a barbecue area)is included as well as a small shed for storage. WIFI is available.

You could then spend the afternoon on the sports field competing in the mini-olympics, trying your hand at archery or, a little less strenuous, playing ‘jeu-de-boules’, depicting the atmosphere on paper while watercolour painting, fishing in the lake or sampling some fine wines and traditional French cheeses from the region on our sun terrace. Then while away the evening in our friendly bar and restaurant. Come and join us for an evening of live music or sit around the camp fire, singing your old favourites. Not to be missed are our trips by tractor to a nearby farm, where the farmer awaits with a delicious BBQ.

  • Accrobranche : Next to the Lake du Der is the Adventure Park. Ideal for families, the varying levels of difficulty mean everyone can have a go. Challenge yourself on the high ropes, take a trip down the death slide or just take it easy and watch the children enjoy themselves.

    Air Sports Club : Take to the air with one of the sky based activities on offer. From the nearby Mussey airfield, get a birds eye view of the beautiful landscape in a glider, or if you prefer motorised travel, take a trip in a microlight.

    Canoeing-Kayaking : Lac du Der, the largest man-made lake in Europe, has water based activities for all.

    Hiking : Take one of our guided walks, passing through the forest and capturing some amazing views, or sample the local villages around the area.

    Horseback riding : Pony riding, available for the whole family! A 3-day or 5-day pony riding course for adults, youngsters and children. The youngest children can benefit from a mini course of 90 minutes. Baby pony's for children under 6 years old and mini club for children above 6 years old are also available.     Pony Trekking : Are you interested in a pony ride? No problem! Pony rides of 15 min. for young children and pony rides of 60 min. for youngsters and adults. The dates and prices are available on our website.

    Railway biking : Making use of the old railway line, the Cyclorail in Chantraines is a very pleasant way to spend a few hours. Up to 4 people can travel on one ‘car', which moves along the track by ‘pedal power'. The routes are fairly flat, so you don't need to be a ‘Tour de France' cyclist to do it. There are plenty of information points on the routes, letting you know all about the areas you are passing, and the views are fantastic.

    Visit the Park and Gardens, Visit the Park and Gardens : Château du Grand Jardin, in the nearby town of Joinville, is an ideal place to spend an afternoon. Take a gentle stroll around the gardens, set in the shadows of the magnificent château. Open throughout the summer, Les Jardins de Mon Moulin have a wonderful array of flowers and plants, set amongst some beautifully arranged gardens.

    Birdwatching : La Forge de Sainte Marie has huge bird population. Upwards of 40 different species can be regularly seen on or around the campsite. From the little "Jenny" wren to the larger varieties like the crow and rook, fieldfares chatter at you as you pass their territory and buzzards can be seen circling above the campsite. The song of the chaffinch fills the air all day long.

    Bowling : Whatever the weather, get as many strikes as you can with a few games at the bowling alley in the nearby town of Chaumont.

    Fishing : The river rongeant, created from a natural source, meanders throw the estate and widens into a small trout fishing lake. The category A fishing for trout can be enjoyed by all the whole family. Sit along the banks of the river and enjoy the calm of the water, get away from it all or simply fish directly from your pitch.

    Football : At the centre of the campsite, a large, open, grassy area provides the perfect place for a wide range of sports, including football, volleyball, basketball and badminton.

    Go kart : In the nearby town of Chaumont, budding racing drivers can test their skills on the karting circuit.

    Golf : For the golfers, play a round at the attractive courses of Arc en Barrois or Combles en Barrois, near Bar le Duc. Don't worry if you don't have room for clubs, all your equipment is available for hire.

    Mini-golf : The ‘Parc de Loisirs' at Esnouveaux, a short drive from site, has a wide range of activities for all the family. Try your hand at mini-golf, have a game of boules, jump around on the bouncy castle, trot along on a pony ride, or just spend an afternoon relaxing. Or you find a mini-golf at Lac du Der.

    Swimming pool : Housed within the original 300-year-old forge, our swimming pool provides season long activity for everyone. Indoor and heated, you can come and swim here, whatever the weather. Open daily till 10pm, this idyllic building offers a swimming pool and children's pool, as well as changing facilities and hot showers. And for the sunbathers among you, take advantage of the beautiful terrace with sun beds!

Alternatively, you may choose to sample our delectable cuisine ‘al fresco' on our spacious outdoor terrace overlooking the sites own fishing lake. Either way, we're sure you'll enjoy a fulfilling dining experience. Families are very welcome, with menus for both children and young adults. To keep the kids entertained, they can enjoy our fantastic table mats, including games, puzzles and colouring in. Combine this with the relaxing ambiance and you have a perfect evening for parents and children alike.

    Takeaway Meals : During certain times of the season you can also take advantage of our on site pizzeria where large, mouth watering pizzas are prepared to take away. A range of take away snacks are also available throughout the whole season.

    Bar : Our bar, situated within the restaurant, is open daily. Ideal for a mid-afternoon beer or late evening cognac. We offer a range of fine wines, and a trip to the region would not be complete without sampling a glass of champagne.
