La Garangeoire is an exceptional campsite in a protected environment of a 200 hectare (500 acre) tree-filled park with lakes reserved for you where you can enjoy a large number of activities: fishing, cycling, horse-riding, walking on hiking paths on site, heated swimming-pool with water slides,tennis courts, football and volleyball fields, boules, canoes, rawing and pedal boats, crazy golf, trampolines, pedal-karting, children’s playgrounds... From La Garangeoire, you can also explore the unique Vendée "bocage" landscape and the nearest beaches, 15 minutes away by car.

• Getaways and adventures

  • Accrobranche : "Le Grand Défi", adventure park with tree climbing and zip-wires above lakes, located in Saint-Julien des Landes, 2 km from the campsite

    Hiking : La Garangeoire is set in 200 hectares of conservation area and is ideal for walking and hiking. Without even leaving the estate you can follow one of our marked out walks which are between 30 minutes and 2 hours long. Once a week we invite you to join us for a free narrated tour of approximately 2 hours which walks you around the hidden delights of the Estate. Trails are also available around the Jaunay lake, located 2 kilometers away from the campsite.

    Cycling : The Vendee has some 800 kilometres of cycle routes criss-crossing its beautiful scenery, perfect for bike riders to explore the local area. La Garangeoire has an impressive selection of new cycles and VTTs which are extremely well maintained. Guided circuits are on offer regularly and adapted for every level of cyclist, whether it's a gentle run out for the family or a workout for those who want something more challenging!

    Diving : Introduction to scuba-diving, in the swimming pool, once a week in high season

    Fishing : Fishing is free in the 3 lakes of the estate. Lake N°1 (6 acres) : Carp (up to 10 kg), roach, rudd, pike, tench, perch Lake N°2 (4 acres) : roach, rudd, tench, carp, pike, perch Lake N°3 (12 acres) : pike, different small fishes, mainly roach and rudd Dave, who has been a Fishing Coach for over 10 years, regularly runs starter sessions (initiations) for novices, or courses to improve tactics. A fishing competition is organized weekly from April to end of September.

    Football : Soccer ground on site. Soccer animation in high season.

    Go kart : Come and test your driving skills on our pedal karting circuit. We have two circuits marked out in 1,5 hectares of landscaped track. Our 20 All Terrain Karts are adapted for all ages from 3 years old up and ready to go! Open in high season - 5€/30 minutes.

    Golf : La Garangeoire is located in the middle of the "5 golfs-circuit": Golf de Port Bourgenay, Golf de la Domangère, Golf des Fontenelles, Golf des Olonnes Pierre Levée, Golf de Saint-Jean-de-Monts. The nearest is Golf des Fontenelles, in Coëx, 10 km from the campsite. Best known for its driving range, this golf course with its hedgerows provides an excellent succession of water features, maritime pine and oaks over more than 2 miles. Booking is proposed at campsite reception to benefit the discount on 18-holes fee granted to Garangeoire guests.

    Horse riding : The on-site horse-riding & pony centre welcomes beginners and trained riders. 2 qualified instructors organize rides in the forest, lessons and pony games.

For older children we have 6 trampolines as well as an inflatable castle to bounce the day away!

    Entertainment/Activities : Tournaments and all kind of sports and leisure activities, everyday in high season. Evening entertainment in July and August: discos, concerts, night swimming, shows (illusionists, dance companies, clown, vendean folklore), quizzes, circus... Weekly organized activities in low season: - VTT rides - Boules tournaments - Fishing competition - Archery lessons (with extra charge) - Guided Garangeoire discovery walk - Wine-tasting in the Château (with extra-charge) - Occasional evening entertainment

    Entertainment for children : In July and August four multi language speaking leaders are here to welcome 4 to 12 year olds at La Garangeoire Children's Club. This highly acclaimed service is free from 10am to midday, 6 days a week in high season and is also open in early June until the 8th September. On the programme we have outside games and activities plus creative workshops. Team managed activities are also organised regularly in the afternoon. These include professional puppet making workshops, our casting and preparation for “La Garangeoires got talent!” where we put on a final show for our parents at the end of the week. We also have mini golf and ping pong tournaments plus, in the case of less better weather, we have film shows. Our summer programme includes evenings especially organised for children. These include a Garden Funfair every Wednesday evening, Mini Disco's, Puppet Shows and fun and games with Camembert the Clown...

    Garderie : "Garderie" is a free evening care (3 to 10 years old) for parents wishing to have a private dinner in the Garangeoire restaurant. Quiet games, DVD playing, colourings and reading are proposed. Open 4 evenings a week in high season.

• Restaurants and Bars

  • Restaurant : Restaurant, with outdoor terrace. Traditional French cuisine. Open in the evening, from May 10 to September 22 (closed on Mondays) In addition, we provide a free evening care service at our Children's Club to look after the little ones for those parents who would like to take their time savouring our gastronomic menu.

    Takeaway Meals : A simpler menu than the restaurant but nevertheless a comprehensive choice of dishes with a “Plat du Jour” each day, salads, chips, home-made pizzas and Rotisserie Chicken. Open for lunch and dinner from May 10 to September 22.

    Bar : Bar open during the day : whole season - Bar open in the evening : May 10 to September 22. Two bars with two quite different atmospheres : The main bar is situated beside our restaurant and its terrace benefits from a pretty view overlooking our water park. This bar, spacious and lively is where we host our concert or disco evenings and also screen many major sporting events. Our second bar is more intimate and has a cosy pub atmosphere. A favourite place for guests to get to know each other or play music.

    The Garden Grill : A lovely way for families and groups to eat together in a friendly atmosphere. Outdoor tables are equipped with grills which enable guests to cook their own selection of meat or fish depending on your preference. Open on Monday evenings in July and August.

    Crepes party : Make your own crepes on specific heating tables! 2 days a week, in July and August

But please note that on Monday evenings in July and August we do hold some events which finish at midnight for those who prefer a later night.
